Hey guys, Thumper,

I have a single 1050 dominator set up and a 2 x 950 tre 4150's on indy tunnel set up for my 547/528 engines, 600rwhp, 5000 convertor, 95% street/play car that sees the track maybe twice a year .
Been offered a super cheap deal on a matching pair of BRE Book Dominators that have Venturi – 1.860 Throttle Bore – 2.150.
Im guessing it's too much, is it ?

those two dominators are 21.72sqin's of venture; a whole lot! I don't get lost in the cfm thing. it's more marketing hype to me, but venturi area can make or break you with mechanical carbs. the two 950's may be as little as 12sqin's of venturi; fairly small, but very streetable. I see no advantage to the one 1050 over the two 950's; just my opinions.

I would think so............Let me back up.......are you saying you want to run one Dommy and if so then I'd give it a shot TWO, no way as the signal will be horrible imo........... thumbs

I did a back to back engine dyno test on my 526 C.I. Wedge with Indy SR M.W. heads, with one Holley #9375 Dominator 1050 CFM on a Indy 440-3 intake it made 775 HP, changing the intake to a Indy dual dominator tunnel ram and adding another Holley #9375 that motor made another 30 HP up to 805 HP shruggy
Every Mopar engine I've mess with like more air and fuel, SB, BB and Gen 2 426 hemi, same thing on the early gen 1 Chrysler Hemi motors also up
On your deal switching to the bigger carbs., you may not see a lot of gain from that. If your not getting rid of the 950 carbs it would be real interesting to do the swap on the carbs only and go from there up work

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

That's the test: when the booster signal is too weak to give stable idle and response the venturi must go down.
That's what spread-bore carbs do: now 50 years old...
