Been looking to purchase ignition, door and trunk locks for my 70 Cuda. I see a lot on Whew Bay and some kits indicate the trunk lock will not work for Cuda. Is there something specific about the Cuda trunk lock? Some sellers say theirs fit 70-71 models and some say 70-72 models. Looking for some guidance and thanks.

The offset lock requires a long rod that may not be included in the 'fits all' kits.

Yes the lock cylinder is specific for the lever to attach with an E clip.

I do have the correct long rod, just the lock had no tumblers. So the kits don’t provide the long rod is why they say it won’t work on the 70 Cuda?

The arm/lever that attaches to the lock (held on with a c clip) is a lot longer on a 70/71. You can use a standard trunk lock and switch the arm/lever if you already have it. The trunk latch is also unique for 70/71's because of the lever for the long rod.

How can you use a standard trunk lock? They don't have the same connections on the back for an arm and E clip.

You could swap the tumblers from a donor to your original lock.

Look at the differences

This is a ABC trunk lock. Notice how the link attaches

70 Barracuda trunk cylinder and linkage, held on with an E clip. Notice hole in lever

1970 Barracuda trunk latch and lever. Notice the hole in lever is different from e lock cylinder.
