Can anyone offer some suggestions of where to look ???? My 1990 W-250 abruptly died on me the other day coming out of town.Neighbor saw me on the side of road and pulled me home.I changed out the ignition switch on the steering column thinking that was it because I have no power to the dash when the switch is turned on.I also changed out the coil on the firewall remembering a incident a friend had and he had a coil die shutting his old chevy off.Nope, not that.I discovered the throttle linkage spring was broken, replaced that.I was looking through my Haines manual and saw there was a ASD (automatic shut down) relay that could be the cause, ckecked it with my metermapperars to be okay. All fuses in fuse box good.Still no power to key switch.I,m trying to become more adept at electrical issues but is a struggle. Can someone offer some help please on where to look and test????

Toasted fuse link is my bet. Follow the positive battery cable to a 5 way split. Bet one of those wires is bad. The insulation can look fine, you'll need to pull to see if the conductor fried.

Hi Gang, thanks to all that replied to me plea for help.Sorry getting back to you so late, just got it figured out.Between making hay and trying to find 3 " Fugitive" cows escaping from my pasture,I found the time to look for the electrical problem. The positive battery wire after the "Split" was "Spliced" some time ago and it seems the solder let loose providing no juice to the starter relay on the side of the fender.Resolder the connection and turned the key and .....lights on the dash once again, hit the key and its running.I thought everyone would want to know what I found.I appreciate the responses and the interest."Helping" each other out on our "Beloved Mopars" is what it is all about.

Good find! I was thrown for a loop 10 years ago with that positive cable split on my 90 w150. Right at the lead main terminal, the cable corroded under crimp and had a ton of power going everywhere but starter.
