I have I think the basic all black wheel, but was the woodgrain sport type wheel was available in 68? At least 1 place has it + horn pad for near $700 new. Does someone restore these?
Thanks

Woodgrain wheel was optional in '68. There are a couple guys that restore them to a high standard, and years ago Ted Stephens was selling some that were pretty nice but slightly different woodgrain texture than originals.

Who restores them? I see a Doug guy and several others claiming to be 'the steering wheel guy' =)

A few different places. Doug Lepak is one. Should be some threads in the Archives, with photos.

You can either buy the repro, yeah the spokes are a little shinier than the originals, but you can knock down the shine with white or red scotchbrite, to your liking, or leave it as be?, the grain and woodcolor are a little darker, but not too far off from the 68-9 factory color

Factory original B body woodgrain wheels are very expensive, usually $300 and up for junk, a "nice" wheel used is usually $750 to $1200...and it still has to be restored!, depending on whom you choose, and the condition of the wheel you supply it could easily run you $1K for the resto alone...

IIRC there's one steering wheel guy that has done wheels for sale... www.woodgrainwheels.com
