Hello,
I’m restoring my 8 3/4 axle and I have a question as to the yellow numeric and letter stamping on the axle. Their painted in yellow and I was wondering what it meant?

Any help would be appreciated
Thx

If you have a matching broadcast sheet for the car, the 'AXLE' code on line 4 will have the same numbers.

The visible number on the differential allowed the in plant parts-pickers to send the correct differential assembly for your car to the main line for assembly.

(broadcast sheets do vary from model year to model year at times, but this example is true for 1970 model year cars)
