I'm pretty sure a small block Chevy Thermostat housing fits the small block Mopar manifolds ….right??

Always a good day when you can solve your own problems! If it is chromed on the bottom sealing surface I would suggest drawfiling the chrome off of there & not torqueing the 2 bolts too hard which can warp it & make it leak. the sealing surfaces are too narrow.

that looks like a nice piece, pricey tho. I've had some problems getting em to seal, I think I was torqueing the bolt too tight & warping it a bit. A thin gasket with some of "the right stuff" cement ended up doing the trick. I wish the sealing surfaces on housings were a bit wider.

wow. CVR makes nice stuff.
They even have -16 AN straight or 90 deg housings.
I've always used Hylomar and had no leaks.

Chevy stat housings fit but aren't the same. Mopar has a recess in the housing for the stat. Chevy has a recess in the intake for the stat. Using a chevy stat housing on a mopar intake leaves you know place for the stat to sit.

I believe Racer33 is correct about the Chevy and Mopar NOT interchanging. I think this is the one you want.
