I have a chance to pick up a brand new set of Hedman B & E body headers for 1/2 price. They are the ceramic coated 14ga 3/8" flange ELITE Hedders...very HD.I am wondering why these headers wouldn't fit a big block RB truck or RC? Anyone try something similar?I found many references saying yes...I just want to double check since with the ceramic coating I certainly don't want to bash them.I don't mind trimming frame rails ect. Thanks

I run a set of the hedman 79250 2x BB truck header. (same as swap header from Bouchillon)

they look exactly like the top pic of the 79256 (which would be ceramic coat?)

mine tuck up in the frame and do not hang below it.. the 1 collector bolt is the only thing below frame rail.

for a 4x4 the tubes have to give room for the diff housing/shaft to move up/down.

B-body headers do fit in a truck chassis with a little clearance cut on the upper frame rail. they will hang below frame rail IIRC.

I don't think they will work on a 4x4 chassis due to diff/shaft clearance.

I have both hedman sets for a sb truck chassis 2x & 4x4
79080 sb 2x
79171 sb 4x4
79250 bb 2x

IMHO. hedman is the best fit for the price.

the 79250 and 79256 are both listed for 4wd trucks but not RC's

I was looking under my 88 440 2x chassis truck last night. the 79250 I have tuck way up in the frame.

I WILL know in a couple weeks though. I just got a bare 86 4x4 chassis and a 67 440 to mock up with a set of 79250s

RC/TD 2x and 4x4 chassis are identical to a 2x and 4x4 truck chassis other than the wheel base is shorter for a RC/TD.

Thanks scratchn, I want to know because the truck headers are not 14 ga. with 3/8" thick flanges like the elites....much better IMHO

I ran a set of hooker comps 17/8" b-body headers in my 76, 2x. Had to trim the frame flanges both sides. I also moved the brake proportion valve to the outside.

I put a set of big block b body headers on my 84 and just like moparlulu I had to trim the frame on both sides. drivers side bottom and passangers side top about a half to three quarters of an in in no biggie.used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel.
