Does anyone know if there was a plastic spacer used between the master cylinder and booster on any 1970 disc brake applications? I've had a couple people mention that some cars had more than just the thin gasket and used a white plastic spacer approx. 1/4" thick?

The part number I've been given is # 2401862. I went through quite an ordeal a while back trying to get my MC/booster/linkage/pedal all to work despite everything being apparently correct...a missing spacer would seem to explain things.

My '70 RR has factory disc brakes and it does not have that spacer. System works good and I never had any issue with it.

Thanks. I'm thinking B bodies didn't have them, but was wondering if maybe C bodies or something did...and maybe I have a C body Booster.

Not sure what the problem is, but now my buddy has the same issue and we thought....

I just replaced mine last weekend and there was only the thin ,foam gasket.Someone was talking about adjustmant in the rod to make things work differently.I have replaced the booster(4 years ago) and just did the master cylinder with no problems.Good luck.

yes, there is a threaded "knob" on the end of the rod that pushes into the MC but there isn't enough adjustment to fix my problem. I ended up putting a spacer between the firewall and the booster to stop the plunger from being depressed before the pedal is engaged. It works; I just don't like it.

Might you be thinking of the white plastic spacer used on power DRUM brake cars??? Not used on power disc cars...

A bit off the beaten path....

I have a '68 charger with power drum brakes that was missing all its components when I found it. I got all the original parts but I did not use the spacer being discussed. I have had some strange issues with my brakes since building it and have got them to work pretty good but not perfect.

Question what would be side affect(s) of a power drum brake car that did not have said spacer installed?

I have never seen this part before so if I were to try and find one or fabricate one, how should I go about it?

you could also put a piece of paper over the master cylinder rear end, trace the outline on to the paper then use you 'template' to make one?

Both my 70 V code 70 Bees are disk brake with no spacer

My 70 V code Bee is an original track pack drum brake car. I have the original drum brake booster in one of my totes. I will check it out later tonight. How do you tell the difference between a drum/disc brake booster?

I believe the boosters were the same. The MCs were different. 70 B Body disk brake MC the lines exit toward the exhaust manifold.

No gasket or spacer on any B body disc brake application 1967 thru 1970

My OEM power front disk brake 70 Roadrunner has the brake lines exiting the master cylinder towards the firewall. I've always been confused about this & have picked up several master cylinders over the years that were "supposed" to be correct, but were not. I've owned 3 different types.
a. shorter/fatter one with fender exit lines (on my car now)
b. shorter/fatter onw with engine exit lines
c. taller/thinner one (smaller cover too) - can't remember which side the lines are...maybe Hemi or C-body?

And if anyone is stuck... I believe I have one of those plastic white spacers.

Lastly, I believe the power drum boosters are flatter & larger diameter. I ran one for many years when you couldn't buy power disk boosters aftermarket.
