Thanks Josh. I despise social media, even if a forum might technically qualify, so I wouldn’t have seen this on there.
Great to see local tie ins. Should make for even better events when that’s possible.
I want my fair share

Josh, any plans to manipulate the purses to better fit the class sizes? I think two classes last year only had three rounds Sunday but raced for the same purse as Pro. Maybe combine some of the classes that are real close together like the Hemi class and NSS? N/SS has never gone only 3 rds to win, neither has Hemi. Doug

Maybe combine some of the classes that are real close together like the Hemi class and NSS? I’ve been trying to get some sponsor dollars for Pro so I can add purse dollars. There is far to large of a delta in the rules of NSS and Hemi to combine those classes. I’ve been having some pretty encouraging conversations with some folks, but with that said if anyone knows someone who would like to jump on board with us to sponsor Pro or Super Pro send them my way. We would love to add to all the purses.

Doug The second half of my comment wasn't related to the first. I think King of Street and Big Dog only had 3 rounders Sunday. As far as combing classes, that was just a suggestion to help increase purse sizes to other classes. NSS and the Gen 2 Hemis aren't THAT far off, even when you look at the rules. I just keep getting back to Pro having such a huge populous over the others and still racing for the same purse. Pro normally foots the bill for others at events, I get that, but with so many classes at this event, it's a common complaint I hear. I'm not sure why sponsorship is the main driver for purse...I would have thought car counts? Either way, good to see efforts to get people involved are there.

I bet most people would be freaked to see what it cost to rent the facility for 4 days. My guess is walk up spectator tickets begin to help the bottom line, probably not racer entry

I'm not sure why sponsorship is the main driver for purse...I would have thought car counts? Either way, good to see efforts to get people involved are there. It’s a little more complicated then just moving the money around or combining the classes. I appreciate the pro guys for their support and understand that they make up a large quantity percentage of the racers. The thing is I have a program in place that we are able to make work as it is and is scaleable. If I add purse I have to bring in more dollars. If I combine classes I will certainly lose racers. We do this show with about a 3% profit margin believe it or not. Small changes make a big difference at that level. That’s why sponsor dollars drive it. We put so much back in paying for the track and expenses total payouts and all the other things not worth listing to pull it all together. I’m not interested in changing the format from where we are at today. But with that said I do over time expect to be able to make it better for everyone. My Opinion at this point on making it better is to do one of 2 things. Lower entry fees or raise the purse. I prefer the idea of raising the purse, I like the classes we have as they are set and am extremely grateful for the people who come and race with us. Now if I could just get Bob George to come off some money....

So my suggestion to weight payouts according to class size is valid. Lower purses for classes with <10 cars and raise the others. Like I said, it's a complaint I've heard and I can only assume promoters like feedback. May I make a suggestion. Why don't YOU build YOUR car to fit one of the other classes. !50.00 to race two days for 1500.00 sounds like a deal to me as I go to other races on the East coast and know what it costs. Some cars cost way more to race than others and have more fan appeal. I personally think the "street class" pays to much but I'm not going to cry about it.

I have raced in the " Street" class last couple years. Unlike at my home track 12 flat and slower, at Monster Mopar it's 11 flat and slower. Most times it's 6 or 7 rounds. Very well populated by racers. Similar to box with entries I would bet. Called Sportsman class Best deal if you want to talk payout for entry is probably my 11.50 race. Last year 3rd round was in the money and pays back to quarters. Not everybody will ever be happy. Josh does a great job

I think he does too. No matter how hard you try some guys will always cry. He is trying hard to up the car count in the heads-up class. The big dog 8.50 and under used to be a qualified 16 car class years ago so that changed some making the box class slightly smaller.

Take a breath brother...it was a suggestion. Didn't know all the negativity would jump in and take offense to some friendly Convo. No different than when I suggested Mopar nats add a gamblers race and the next year they did. Everyone wins when things evolve. I know how much it was because I won Pro last year.

How's the pits at Clay city? Any concerns with 67ft of Motorhome and Trailer? We would like to check this race out, seeing once again i can't make the Norwalk race.

Like I said, it's a complaint I've heard and I can only assume promoters like feedback. Or pony up and a build a N/SS, Hemi, or big dog car and go less rounds. Trust me we've run Pro as well. Try racing a 9.0 car on 10.5's foot braking in Pro on local track prep. Cause that's what I do when there is no N/SS

I have only missed one since 1996 when I was laid up in the hospital in 2008, but the car was there that weekend as Bondo Bob took the driver seat in my absence.

Hi Josh I see you can pre register thru the link. In the past there was a form to fill out w/driver and car info. Is this no longer needed as no form populated?
Ok

We just have a scooter. Do they rent golf carts at the track? Dornan’s golf cart rentals rents for the event. They are right at the track. I always call them and reserve ahead of time. They have run out in the past. Nice folks 419-912-4028

Who’s getting their rides ready? I’m getting way closer..:been a long time coming Josh When did you go to GEN 3? I liked the old 440 set up you had. This may be a lot more driveable and a lot better weight balance if you street drive it. Jerry

Is it necessary to pr-register to be sure of a pit spot? Long tow for us and "life" happens. Nope. You are welcome to just show up at the gate. My Cell is 317 681 4546 if you need anything at all.

Yes Linders lot is a staging area for those who get there early This is correct and you can get into Linders Lot starting at 8 am Thursday morning. Then around noon time they start letting you into the track based on the number assigned when you arrived. Pre registered get in first and then the others follow.

OK, I lied. One more question. We're having a heck of a time finding an RV park to stay for a couple days before the track opens. Motorhome and trailer are about 68 feet. Any suggestions? Hopefully within 20-30 miles from the track. We're in Sandwich Il. right now. I can't help you with where to stay, but if your still in sandwich IL you've got to eat a beef roll from brother's restaurant before you go! Good stuff. I was born and raised in sandwich!
