you might mean the one with 3 wire plug.
i usually look for an application like a mid 80's toyota truck so it has a v-groove belt.

the hookup is switched 12v source, a 12v reference wire. both of those are in the plug on the alternator.
a stud for the alt output that goes to your battery post or something like that...

the ARengineering website has a pdf of the instructions, mancini sells his kits...

I don't know of a Denso alternator that is one wire. You can buy Powermaster one wire alternators. The Powermaster alternators are converted Denso alternators. Denso is an OEM supplier and I don't think any of the OEMs would use a one wire alternator.

I have a Power Master / Denso that has the main stud and the 3 wire plug. I haven't used it yet but was told don't worry about the plug in, just hook up the main stud and run it to the battery. Is that correct?

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

It wont work like that you need to have it wired with the plug for the internal regulator to operate. You need to get the plug from Andy and wire it up as the diagram shows.
The Toyota Denso alternator works fantastic when wired correctly and will outlast any other alternator and you don't need an external regulator.

Throw this number into the google machine.

You can turn an externally regulated ND alternator into a 1 wire. This number doesn’t work for every ND alternator, but you can get a one wire regulator for any ND alternator if you search a little bit.
I still recommend using an external regulator over the one wire stuff... Just my preference.

I'd call powermaster and ask them. Their customer service is very good from my experience.

I run one of these, works with factory alternator brackets, just have to make the adjusting bracket into more of a U shape. It only requires the 1 main wire and a ground wire.

was my experience as well, i had the 12v reference wire and the keyed 12v switched on my plug and the alt didn't work. swapped the wires and it works great.
13.5v at idle. i kinda want to put one on my beater truck too so the lights don't flicker so much at lights...

Because it's NEVER the regulator on a Toyota alternator, they usually wear out the brushes in about 120,000 miles then all you need to do is install a new brush holder for about $15.00

Look at your local starter alternator rebuild shop. They should have converted Denso's for way less that a Powermaster.
