I have a Power Master / Denso that has the main stud and the 3 wire plug. I haven't used it yet but was told don't worry about the plug in, just hook up the main stud and run it to the battery. Is that correct?
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Is that correct? It wont work like that you need to have it wired with the plug for the internal regulator to operate. You need to get the plug from Andy and wire it up as the diagram shows. The Toyota Denso alternator works fantastic when wired correctly and will outlast any other alternator and you don't need an external regulator. Gus

Throw this number into the google machine. 126000-0550 You can turn an externally regulated ND alternator into a 1 wire. This number doesn’t work for every ND alternator, but you can get a one wire regulator for any ND alternator if you search a little bit. I still recommend using an external regulator over the one wire stuff... Just my preference.

Is that correct? I'd call powermaster and ask them. Their customer service is very good from my experience.

Gus was my experience as well, i had the 12v reference wire and the keyed 12v switched on my plug and the alt didn't work. swapped the wires and it works great. 13.5v at idle. i kinda want to put one on my beater truck too so the lights don't flicker so much at lights...
