At least he uses the word 'roughly' multiple times. I would switch up the context of where to apply the word though as 'roughly' certainly does apply. What would cause something like this? Friends get together and while inhaling copious amount of beer come up with an idea?

Always thought it looked horrible.

Seen it on VW busses, too. Co-worker bought a '58 or '59 that was chopped down to make a parade car and put a good center section back in. Doubt that's possible here...

Not only do we have bad taste in looks, but we got the engine covered too:

"301 cu.in. 12.5 compresion, Alum. Brodix 2.08 intake valve, 8,500 RPM Comp. Cam., Holley double pumper"

Boy, would that ever be a fun engine at anything less than 25,000 rpm.

Idiot.

Here's his other car:

Chevelle version...

https://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/d/68-custom-chevelle/6568046499.html

\Grabs your attention, doesn't it! Not for the bashful, 'cause EVERYBODY wants to ask about it, like- what the 'ell is it?. . .short story is it was a 4 door and somebody cut out from the back of front seat back to the package tray. Now it has 2 bucket seats with a console and the shifter in the console. Very similar to an El Camino. I've had it up on a lift and whoever did it did a good job. The frame is solid and it appears the floor pans have been replaced and it has been undercoated at some point. It has a strong running 327, Edelbrock intake & 4bl carb, AT-probably TH350. Had my mechanic go through it last fall: tune-up, oil change, carb adjusted, brakes checked, and road tested. Right now it's a daily-driver, but there are a few areas that need attention. Also, it's a "20-footer" due to some rust bubbles under the paint in the usual areas--see the pictures. Has some SS badging, but is NOT a SS. Tires are near new! Calls taken after noon and evening.

The only ones I have seen that had proportions anywhere near right were shortened wagons. Shorty more door sedans pretty much stink on ice.

I’m by no means a Chevy fan but a 301 is a pretty cool old school drag engine. Yes. You can make more power with other engines.
Yes you spin a 301 8000-9000 rpms. Below 4500? Not much going on.
Friend of mine has built a few for his tri-five gassers. Runs 11’s with a stick. (A833 trans)

Here’s one of his builds.
