Trying to come up with a simple way to know how many degrees I've moved distributor vs. using timing light every time.

I currently mark the distributor and the block where I know, at a glance, where 36° total is for me.

Since I started playing with nitrous, I retard different amounts for different tuneups.

I thought about using the base of a torque angle gauge or degree wheel and some way mounting it to flat base of the distributor. I googled 360° 2.25" angle gauge and didn't come up with much.

Yes, I know there are MSD controllers that allow you to retard/advace but was trying to keep it old school.

Any ideas?

They make these for Chevy engines. Might be possible to make something similar for a Mopar???

Shouldn't be too hard to fabricate something. I mark my crank trigger brackets with a dimple every 2 degrees so a person and adjust the timing without a timing light.

Yep, I thought I recalled seeing those at some point. I'd like to have something like that for my car, too.

I seen it when I was employed there but I never thought (at the time) to see about modding it for us.

You would be amazed what a simple red or black sharpie dot on the lower edge of the dizzy where it sits on the block and then one on the block. A sharpie mark can last for several years.

No need to overthink the simple for no more then your doing.

Have a black dot on your dizzy, match it to a black dot on your block for na, and a red dot for spray. Check one time a year with a timing light for chain stretch.

That is what I'm doing now and have done for quite a while. Not a problem for one or two points but with multiple different settings for different N2O jettings, was thinking I could do it better...

for multiple points it would seem like a (very) good addition. I used to run around in Wichita decades ago (I lived down on hydraulic avenue) back when BTK was doing his thing.

Chevy ones are actually a pain to see in a passenger car as the distributor is in the back up against the firewall and buried. A Mopar BB engine has the dizzy up front so it would be way easier to see.

MSD parts play well with mopar dizys, you could run a newer box and pull it out with a laptop or with a older box like a 6al you could easily hide the lil msd chipped retard box.

Alot of fun for not alot of money is the nos mini controller with alot of features since your going deeper into it. Ramping it is a bit turbo like power.

It looks like your hooked, be careful, it only takes one mistake to get bit.

Yep, already have an older analog 6AL box hidden under the battery tray but triggered by a Mopar electronic distributor. I also have a Leash single stage board for the nitrous. May just buy the #8680 MSD adjustable timing contoller...

Them are nice proven little units, I only got the chip retard box because of the added start retard feature.

Looks like a bill fifty for the 8680, which isnt bad in todays world.

I did a seperate, dedicated fuel cell mounted up front with an electric pump to feed only the fuel solenoid. I played with the 100 shot jetting first and everything went well, bumped to 150 shot and it is a riot! I have jets for up to 250 but really should change out the plugs for colder for anything past what I'm doing now.

Lots of fun on the street!

I used to be able to hook from a roll in first at 30-40 mph with the ET Street Pro's but now it squirts sideways and MOVES OUT once I bang 2nd! drive
