Thanks Tom, I had an upholstry shop glue it on and I instructed them how to trim it so I could do the rest.
For the headliner no one ever told me there were 2 styles used that year, I got the wrong one because I did not know.... need a headliner?

TIP: having a difficult time trying to install your "mouse trap" style spring loaded rear license plate holder? I used vice grips to carefully clamp one side....just the lower half and let the upper section rest down on the pliers like a stop, holding the assembly open....yeah I know but it worked and the car went unscratched

Nice looking car. What part of New Mexico do you live in? If you get it finished and would like to show it off you can bring it over to Amarillo Texas for the 3rd annual Chrysler's in the Canyon.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm in Albuquerque NM. Unfortunately my car won't be done in time for your show. Just been too busy to focus on the car and I still haven't sent out my rear bumper for chrome, it has to go to Texas. I need to find an anodizer. And there's always a little snag...wrong headliner etc. Since you all are only a few hr's maybe next year

Thanks.

Here's a sail panel you can see it's not the same material. I am told the type headliner I had was called yorkshire.

close up of material, the grain is only visible in the areas that were not exposed to light

A pic Dante sent of the yorkshire type repop material he has.... I have a sample of this on the way from both Dante and Burdar. Burdar also sent the SMS material. Thanks to both Dante and Burdar for their help

{EDIT} this is the underside the flip side is a more accurate match to my original material

I need to recheck my old sail panels too. Never noticed the grain pattern before now. Thanks

My 72 Cuda had what appeared to be two factory holes for the `Cuda tail panel emblem they align neatly between the centers of the outer most portions of the letter C and the A. The Cuda logo I had was an original of some kind that was drilled to align with these holes. the car was built in late 71 at Hamtramck

I- is the OEM tailpanel emblem with the holes

II- A stick on Dales Cuda shop reproduction Nice part but I still longed for the pin style

III- And finally an Ebay Cuda dual pin/post style reproduction, item is just slightly shorter in length. The pin holes are off, at least for my car. The outer edge is rough and and the thickness even varies. Both ebay emblems are also softer/bendable as if what ever it is made from is a much softer alloy lead or aluminum? Put it this way Scott Smith would throw em out

The "by Plymouth" emblem it was paired with in the auction appears correct in size and appearance is very close, however this is made in one solid piece, where the original was 2 parts and they are supposed to have a chrome border and letters this does not

in this shot you can compare the correct style shape and contours of the Dales #II emblem to the ebay part #III

my original by Plymouth emblem

Are you going to put the headliner material on your sail panel? I haven't gotten a close look at mine but they just look like some kind of vinyl. I'll be waiting to see how you attach it.

Looks good,

Chuck

HI,
I've been following your thread and just wanted to say your doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work and thanks for posting the pics of the progress and the repro parts. I like the detail distinctions you point out of the parts.

Ray

Thanks, the AMD bumper arrived today overall a nice looking part. Here are the details. I stacked it against a 73 core I had.... NOTE a 72 bumper has an 18" bumper bracket bolt spacing and a 73 has 13-1/4"

The licence plate area has a bit more "texture" then the stock 73 in the same area.

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS AN OEM 73 BUMPER SO ANY NOTED DIFFERENCES MAY ONLY BE MODEL YEAR CHANGES

The bumper jack slots appear to be at a slight angle but due to the spacing difference and the bumper being V shaped it could be an optical illusion....

Of note is the absence of chrome at the lower hole , also the difference in contour of the lower edge of the bumper, possibly a 72/73 model year difference and maybe not OEM Vs Repro difference can anyone confirm this. A friend does have a 72 in his rafters

Anyone who is following this thread notice the box the bumpers are on?

the OEM 73 has a fish hook jagged point in the underside edge at each end. The 72 Repro does not
