Is anyone running the FiTech in line fuel pump? Like it? Quiet?

I am running one, you can hear it but it is not all that bad. One thing I will say is make sure your fuel pressure is right, the fitech can't handle too much fuel pressure it makes the drivers shut down in the throttle body. makes them hard to start and sets weird codes. I made an access port so I could check it. Also the pressure regulator is kind of small for this application, it has a screen on it that clogs quite easily raising fuel pressure. The regulator comes from a Fuel Pressure Regulator: 1998-2003 VW Beetle 1.8 engine.

Great info, I'm trying to decide what to do for a fuel system. New engine build and builder didn't put the fuel pump eccentric on the cam bolt. It's a magnum roller cam and not even sure if it has the notch for the eccentric to sit over. So i was looking at an aeromotive in tank set up. By the time i get their tank/pump combo and their kit with fittings and regulator im at a thousand bucks. I saw tge fitech kit with this fuel kit for 1100 and change. Thinking if the pump wasn't too bad, i might as well just go with the fitech complete kit

Id watch for starvation issues without any baffling or a sump.

We are installing an Aeromotive phantom in tank pump with a fitech for a little red express. No plans for using a different regulator though, I thought the integral one on the fitech would be sufficient. [?]

We are all-in for the Aeromotive and lines for about $725...

My apologies, that is a Bosch 044.

https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-61944-Universal-Inline-Fuel/dp/B003WL73OK

I use a....

https://www.amazon.com/Walbro-GSL392-400...lbro+255+inline

And then get a 80's Corvette fuel filter. Save ya a few bucks.

I have the Sniper EFI, and got the spectra stock EFI tank with Walbro 255 in the sump. As well as the Corvette fuel filter, Wix #33482 for $5.00. I had to get my own EFI hose, but that wasn't terrible.

I went on ebay and bought a new tank with baffles and new sender and electric pump. installing it now to run my fitech. didn't want to mess with the command center that's been reported problematic and also didn't want to mount it in the engine bay.

Check RockAuto, they carry Spectra tanks in tank pumps and baffling.
Installed in my Challenger with 600HP FiTech system and it works great.
Least expensive, cleanest solution I could find.

As a complete assembly or individual parts?

I have one for my Cuda but it was like 2-3 years ago at least, when they first came out and if I remember when I looked at it, it didn't have a flare fitting on the fuel line coming out of the sending unit/pump assembly. Does yours?

Look at the fuel lines coming out of the tank.

Spectra tank comes with baffling, in tank electric fuel pump and sending unit at a single price for $250.

Used fuel injection hoses and clamps to hook up to the tank.

To me the best reason for using the Spectra Tank system is that it uses the OEM vapor separator/vent system. Been using mine since they came out. Also from Rock as the distributors either did not have them or had a very high opinion of its pricing.

I do not know if they make them for A-bodies yet. I've only seen them for B/E-Bodies so far.

I did the same thing, with a Rockauto Coupon I got my 71 Challenger EFI tank for just over $200.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1971,challenger,7.2l+440cid+v8,1496987,fuel+&+air,fuel+tank+&+pump+assembly,17130

There is this intank A-body tank with pump.

http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/p...prod/prd481.htm

And intank is always better then outside, helps keep the pump cool and lasts longer.

What Rock Auto coupon are you guys using to get that tank for around $200?
Does that include shipping?

The best price I've found is at Summit but is a long way from $200

While the FITech reg is a little small, it handles a 340 lph pump no problem.

I just tapped one of the -6 plugs for a gauge to verify. You can also run an external reg if you block the return...

Ok, I was worried about using clamps for high pressure hose.

I said $250, it was $258.
RockAuto always has 5% off coupons and doesn't kill you on shipping.
It's been a year, here's my order.
Summit gives "free" shipping by raising the price......

I noticed you ordered the CR8DFI Spectra tank from Rockauto and the tank Summit lists is the Spectra CR8FFI.

Anyone know the difference between the CR8DFI and the CR8FFI?
Big difference in price, is there a difference in the pump?

They both appear to be for Challengers, would it be model year difference?

3 different tanks for Challengers
70 has no vents
71 has 4 vents on side
72-74 has 4 vents on back

Even though I have a 70, I wanted the 4 vent system to add the later model ECS system to vent tank to engine and not just to outside air like 70.
Get the cheaper tank and plug vents if you don't use them.

They all have the same pump.
Check pics on RockAuto and you'll see the differences.
