gch OP master Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 3,138 Central NC	I just picked up a 742 center section with a clutch suregrip in excellent condition.I would like to change the gear ratio and swap it with my 489 case.Do I need to change anything(bearings)in my housing or can I bolt it in and go?

The 742 and 489 carriers use different size pinions, contact Dr Diff for some help/parts. If you go to the 489 carrier use the solid pinion spacer instead of the crush sleeve
