What do you guy's think of these color's on a 1977-78 dodge macho truck ??? color with some pop,..lime green/ plum crazy ???...thanks for the input on these trucks !

The lime green looks OK. I don't think purple would be in my top 10. Myself,I like the Macho trucks in silver or white. Everyone will have their own preference though...

I like it but the bright lime or purple definitely benefit from the Macho package's flat black treatment.To much can bee too much!

Lime and black - sure. (Unless it was intentional, there's a color shift going on in the photos making the black appear purpley).

Man,..thanks for all input on the colors,...in the past when you are building a project,..you have in your head what color from the get go,..but with this built im having a hard time,..you guy have some great looking trucks !...i will keep you all posted on the color i go with,..thanks to all !!

How about the fairly bright green metallic 1979 color. Don't know code but it was on many trucks and would look cool with the macho package colors.

Yellow and black. You could call it a Macho Bee.

Some of the original color's are kinda on the dull side,..i like the macho package truck's,.. and with that,..i think you have to have a color that will stand-out going down the road,..you guy's have a lot of great idea's i like !!

Thanks guy's,..asking friends for help,..i to like the white macho truck's but don't like waxing that color,..it is a pain,..i like the lime green/hemi orange,..going to get the cab painted soon so i have to get on the BALL,...LOL

I went with the 2013 dodge dart R/T "citrus peel pearl" & black treatment.

got my doors on now. just need to get the bed done.


I am kinda following some of the Baja paint jobs and macho paint to mix it up a little.


I have my cab/hood black and plan to do the bed black with the stepside fenders/tail gate in the citrus peel pearl.

new engine/fenders/doors/weather strip/color change and she is starting to feel like a new truck again.

And Scratchn's truck looks and sounds great in person too! Helped me out a bunch with my '79 Power Wagon. A wealth of knowledge!

Real clean under the hood. He's done a great job with that truck.

In my mind it take's forever to get your truck the way you want it,..time/money/time/money ...LOL...nice job on your truck.

Thanks B1! the hardest thing to over come is the $$$, then the doing it outside in the backyard by myself learning how, and driving the truck daily for work.

when people say "just paint it" the word JUST is the key word.

like when I said I will JUST swap cabs...sure thing. July to December "Just" to prep and swap it.

then I will "just" add a 5 speed while I swap cabs...just headers...just a 8 3/4...just save up more $$... I will just do a color change..

yes, it is a never ending story building my trucks they way I want them.

my gasser truck build is going to be Orange/black to go with the yellow/black & green/black truck I have.

I agree, my 88-440 2x truck is yellow/black and they look awesome in 2x & 4x4 chassis with wide box or a stepside.

I'm not usually real big on red but with the black paint and graphics, I think a nice bright red would look really sharp on this.

I was thinking that 68 dodge,..but my truck is sun baked from Arizona,..and i have it blown apart...so i think it is time to do it wright with a good paint job/ macho package,..have trouble on the color.......LOL

IMHO, not too many colors don't work with black accents.

I agree that is the trouble im having,..LOL....i hate to flip a coin !.. LOL

get a bunch of test colors and make a wheel chart, spin the needle or roll the dice and spin needle that many times and see what you get LOL!

I am with you all the way, I was thinking orange/black on my next one but after digging the copper/black truck pic back up I really like it.

I have only seen one other truck like that myself.

at the Big Daddy show here in FL was a newer dodge 4x4 done up like the older macho truck graphics. hot rod black and a gloss black kind of ghost graphics and all painted on.

also saw a newer red truck done up like an older macho. vinyl decals looked good but I liked the "LOOK" of the black on black one more.

I did find out the new jeep orange color is...Omaha Orange

looking for the copper/bronze/black stripe Daytona truck color..I know one is in town, I just have to catch up to it.
