Hi guys, had another date with the dyno yesterday. This was an old school 496 built by MM in 1993. Ultradyne .613, stage II ported 906's, 10 to 1 comp, welded crank, stock rods. I had it in my car then sold it to my buddy, he put a six pack on it and wanted it dyno tuned and wanted to know what power was for kicks. So off to the dyno we went. First 15 pulls were to get jetting dialed in, then another 15 pulls messing around with timing. It liked 35 best which surprised me, I thought it would like 38ish with open chambered heads, but not so. I will also post a couple more dyno sheets of motors that I have built, these were all on the same dyno.

John, I usually try and date women, not machines. I always knew you were a little funny

OK, last one. Here is a no maintenance street 506, E-heads, 240 hyd. flat tappet from Scott B., 10.25 to 1 comp, performer rpm, 850 Demon, pretty much spanked the 496 all the way around especially in torque dept.

That goes to show what a little head flow will do. Or lack of head flow with 496 CID and medium cam/CR.

It wasn't long ago, that was a typical build.
