Dave, Larry has a forum you can join. Should be info on it with your pipemax registration. Part of the forum is visible to the public I think. edit: http://www.maxracesoftware.com/Doing a search on Speedtalk forum will turn up a lot of info as well. I've not approached the VE using the headflow calculator so I'm not much help there. If you have engine dyno info, Larry recommends adjusting the VE until the output on the program matches the hp you actually got on the dyno.

Thought i would start a thread on this as i can find no directions on how to calc all the possible info here. Post what ever you have figured out. I have still not figured the VE%. They only let you input head flow at max lift to get your VE% to input in the box for VE. My head flow is 356@.800" lift. That gives me 107.9% VE, which can't be correct because pipe max computes that to 800+hp in my pump gas 511. That to me is at least 100hp off. There must be another way to figure this or am i doing something wrong? PipeMax only knows what it is told. 356 cfm @ 0.800 lift is good for 800 hp on a 5111 short block so PipeMax is giving you a correct answer for that input. But you have to be smarter than the software. Do you have a 0.800 lift cam? If not then the flow at 0.800 doesn't matter.

It would be a good question for Larry. I think that in older versions, up to 3.85 The VE calc was flow with manifold/carb at max lift times .87 Now in version 3.98, it changes with other inputs? As an example, with 1.3" lift it calculates Ve% from 1.4967" lift . Seems like something I would like to know

No, the cam is a .650" on the intake lobe. The flow numbers that Todd@compititionwedge gave me on these E MW heads are 356@.650-356@.700-356@.750 and 356@.800. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! That's odd.
1970 Duster Edelbrock headed 408 5.984@112.52 422 Indy headed small block 5.982@112.56 mph 9.42@138.27
