Looking to paint my engine the correct 1972 blue that original to the 340 engine. VHT makes one that is close and looks decent. Anybody out there use VHT or similar and had good results?

Mopar Performance. They have way improved the rattle cans. Comes out until an empty can. Lays down nice. Get it through Summit/ Jegs.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

I would have a quart mixed up in single stage urethane instead of the spray can stuff.

iagree and many places are able to put that paint [even with catalyst] into spray cans with a fan pattern nozzle. if using a catalyst, get the engine prepped before you purchase the paint, then get home and spray away. the catalyst is only good for a small amount of time before it hardens inside the can. i have done this many times with excellent results.

I like the MP spray cans. It lays out nice and is very durable.
I just got in some blue for my 73 340 and it was backordered from summit for a couple months. Mancini had it in stock last time I checked.

VHT makes very good engine paints, great coverage, fast drying and really close match to factory colors.

Recently heard that Duplicolor offers their paint in a very correct shade for 1971-1972 blue. Has anyone used that one? Ed at ‘The Mopar Shop’ says he uses their products on cars he’s done.
