I am putting an in-tank EFI retro-fit pump into my fuel cell that has the foam blocks inside it.
Is it OK for the foam to just wrap around the pump, or do I need to cut the foam for clearance around the pump?
The pump will be between two block of foam, sort of like the fuel sending unit.

I am thinking of making a hole in the foam to make it easier to remove and install the pump.

All done, it all went pretty easy.
I just need to double check the clearance from the pump inlet to the bottom of the fuel cell.
