It’s been 15 years since I rebuilt my 727 and it’s time for a refresh. What material on the low/reverse band would be good for a 600 horsepower street car?

Low reverse can use a stock part. The sprag takes most of the load on a LBA valve body, and all of the load on a non LBA valve body. Used for reverse only. For a K/D band I prefer the red material. Forward clutches use red Alto. Rear clutch works fine with the stock silver clutches.

Thanks,

I was just looking through my box of extra parts and came across a front solid band that says “DuPont Kevlar on the material. What are the pros and cons of the red vs Kevlar?

Do NOT use the Kevlar with and aluminum drum. Again on a rear band (as long as it's a steel drum) doesn't matter.
