The way they do the tree with amber replaced by green requires the car/set up to be at .400 or worse. If you happen to hit it or guess right, the green can be on and you are still red which is a bad deal. Takes away the old saying, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

The 2 tenths explanation x 2 doesn't hold water when you are leaving off psuedo instant green.

What's wrong with a regular tree? .500 or .400? Why does it have to be so stupid and complicated? This crap is why this stuff is meaningless to me. Loud mouth rules meant to bring drama to a TV show...

They made it so it was like a flash light start but still timed. Basically you had to wait to see green before going. The time it takes the eyes to see green and react would be more than .400. They did explain it in the drivers meeting.

That would would work for most carefully staging bracket racers but those guys especially the turbo cars bump in deep. Even KK took a BIG bite if you watch the video.

Separating the men from the boys...I like the racing and the cars/guys but C'MOM MAN! The timing systems were created and refined to leave ZERO doubt. How about using them if you are racing at a track?

They are trying to duplicate a street race as close as they can.

The instant green had guys bitching.

What they had last night was simple. Kelly went red. As simple as that. Same light for everyone.

I know chuck said at least once if you leave on green you'll red light.

Again, not you but the participants, STUPID AF! Do they have to wait for the flashlight to go out on the street?

That’s why delay boxes were invented. Adjustability

That has to be the stupidest race start technique ever. waiting for the green to go out. what would be wrong with unscrewing all the yellows, instant green and got you would still have the red. I think what they should do on these races is to rotate from a .400 and .500 tree at any time.

They did an instant green and some one bitched about that.

All drag racing should be instant green.

Well THEY may have said that, but they and this reply are 100% incorrect. Watch any NHRA Div or National Race in SG, SC and you will see a ton of cars and drivers more than capable of going RED on a .400 tree. Moreover we actually have a .370 tree at those races. The reason its a .370 tree is for Pro Stock and PSM, otherwise they would be red all the time as well. Anyone who runs pro tree stuff is more than capable of going red on a .400 tree. Hell when I ran my heads up car I had to use an adjustable button with a long throw and stage as shallow as possible to not go red on a .400 tree and these guys make way more power than I did. Anyone who races much would easily be able to go red on a .400 tree with the kind of power these guys have just a fact.

Do the flash light racers wait till the guy shuts the light off to go? I think not. If they don't like instant green just screw in a clear spot light.

The bottom line is they all raced under the same rules and tree set up. Kye red lit, got butt hurt, took his toys home and decided not to play with them anymore. He can stay home and suck his thumb or grow up and come out and race.

IMO, Kye knew he'd have to be on his A game against Ryan and took a shot at the tree and missed.

Big head chief didn’t like the rules either on the first round call outs and look where he is now. If you can’t be the big cheese I guess you stay home.
