Hi all,

I'm installing a sway bar on my '71 Satellite, and need to know the name of a part. I am unable to find it in my 1971 Parts Manual. It's the black strap that the gold bracket is attached to in this photo:

I'd appreciate the name, and a source if anyone knows. Thanks.

Roger

I doubt if it's called anything other than "mount bracket" to the crossmember.
That's what i have always referred them as, for decades, when i came across sway bars to clean up, then resell.
To my knowledge, i don't think anyone repops the factory style brackets.

No, those are the bushing brackets, which are easily available. I need the black brackets that span the gap in the K-frame, and which the bushing brackets mount to (the long black brackets in this pic):

I found that Hellwig makes a mounting kit that contains these brackets, but unfortunately they don't sell directly to the public. It's hard to believe these things aren't available by themselves.

According to the Year One web site, they have them, but there is no picture to confirm. Might be in catalog. For info, they are the same a E body. I have see new one's other places, but can't remember where.

You mean those flat pieces with the bolt holes?
Why not just make them yourself?

I have mechanical Aptitude.

I agree with him, you could make them, unless you are wanting factory look, cause they were stamped out with two lips on them. The lips are on the bottom, so you wouldn't see it unless you got under the car to look for it.

Thanks, guys. I'm not as concerned about looks as I am with their strength & fit, plus spending half a day making them. If I can find them at a reasonable price, I'd rather save the time. I have a lead on Firm Feel, and I'll also check out Year One. Thanks again!

Updated info:

- The Year One kit SK702 consists only of the nuts and bolts required to mount the bracket to the K-frame. It does not include the brackets themselves.

- Firm Feel manufactures and sells the brackets, nicely machined out of aluminum, powder coated black, $135/pair
