Simple, know the rules. Then use them to your advantage. Any racer should know that there is a delay between the yellow bulb positions and the time the car can break the beam. Not recognising this fact was a mistake on Kye's part. Learn from the mistake and move on. Why they didn't just unscrew the yellow bulbs? My bet is Kye wasn't the only one not thinking this starting idea completely.

Actually they were filmed from Jan to March. Mar 16/17 was the last event.

Bottom line is cry Kelley was the only car to go red that I saw. boogie

I've said it before but if anybody is going to get hosed it should be KK.
He needs to change the name of his car to the "agony of defeat". grin

The first event in Memphis was in September. Beech Bend Kentucky was in October. A guy from work went and had a blast. The race in Texas was in November and Arizona was in December. The rest were filmed this year.

Simple fix: use a flashlight, then it's just up to watching the rear tires to determine going red

Quote:
This makes no sense to me. Scot was whining about Kye "jumping" on the last episode but "in my opinion" what does it matter what your rear wheels do if the front end doesn't move ?!? In any event with lights its the front end that determines a "red", you could theoretically sit there with your line lock on spinning the rear wheels and you don't get a red until the front wheels break the beam!!

you're talking about cars that go 1.0X to the 60ft....
so how long would it take for that car to travel the few inches to break the beam?
one the back tire moves, the car is in motion, because it would be nearly impossible for those cars to not have ANY forward movement, when the back tire moves.

I guess you guys missed the episode. Kye was declared the winner when the video clearly showed the light was on before he moved. HOWEVER, Scott made them look at a rear video that showed tire movement before the light. So contrary to what you guys say, there is a fraction of a second where the rear tire has motion in it but the front has not yet reacted.

And in this case, there is no "beam", it was a street race.

Video didn't matter if I understand it correctly. Makes no difference when the car moved. What made the difference is the car broke the beam early. Chuck explained it at the beginning. They were on a .400 tree. The green light (in place of the yellow light) came on. The car broke the beam at .392. That's .008 red. To bad, I think Kye would've had him and stirred the points up.

The ones currently airing are from Jan to March... didn't look back far enough to see those others in the schedule. The AZ race was in January. There was another race in Texas in January also. Only 3 of the 5 were filmed in 2017. I was 5/8 correct laugh2 Although guess Jan tom March is still winter, but only been a 3ish weeks since the last event.

Lol. They must have rescheduled the December race, the calender I found had it in December. Irrelevant, though. Here in Ohio, I think January through June is going to be winter this year...

He went red on a .400 pro tree but if it's supposed to be instant green I'd say he was good.

I've tested to an average of .16, maybe that's why I can go red on a .400 tree with my Turbo Action tranz brake valve bodied 904. laugh2 A lot of people told me it wouldn't do it.

Just to change the subject...I heard Birdman say he "let the Hemi eat" on one of his passes...it may be in a previous post somewhere in these 21 pages laugh2 but is he running a "traditional" style Hemi?
