What would be involved in swapping a rallye dash instrument cluster in place of the standard dash in a 1969 Coronet R/T? Is it a direct bolt-in swap?

I would leave it alone, it's worth more that way . To swap to rallye dash involves new metal dash frame (swapping the VIN) new harness , and all assorted trim from one end of the dash to the other .
The standard R/T dash has it's own wow factor with it's 15 (150) speedo and it's slick woodgrain . Just my opinion.

What these guys said. Different dash frames.
I have cars with both dashes, and while the rallye looks good, to me it is off-center of the steering wheel. The right turn indicator is straight ahead of the steering wheel where you would expect the high beam indicator, and the left turn signal indicator is way over by the headlight switch.
Not sure if it is OCD, but the rallye layout bugs me when driving the car.

It takes a bit of time and you have to pull the windshield. I think the rallye dash is much cooler, but if the car has much originality left in it, the original dash is the way to go IMO.

Agree 100%

Don't do it.

There was a Black V code 70 R/T that sold not to long ago and the original owner did this swap. Killed the value of the car for a lot of people.

Plus it's cool when your are goes to 15
