My 400-2 Indy single plane intake did NOT come as a Max wedge you have to pay extra for that. you can see the scribe marks to make it M/W . Yes it will bolt on 440 source heads.

All the Indy intakes I've seen are max wedge intake port sizes, so no way would I bolt a M.W. intake on a set of stock 440 intake port size heads What happens is the flow from the intake hits the smaller edges of the heads and causes reversion, which can cause backfires and a very lazy motor I've seen the other way cause problems also, 440 intake on a M.W. headed motors, no good Larry Shepherd said the W5 square port intake on a W2 oval port head was just fine. I've had a 360 intake on 318 heads before as well. I'm not sure that the port mismatch is as big of a deal as many think it is.
