I know there is a company out there who sells solid state voltage regulators / limiters for the instrument clusters. Is there any out there that is better than the others? If so, what is the name of the company. I don't want to fry my gauges again with this antiquated point style regulator. Vehicle is a 69 roadrunner.

Thanks. I thought the letters were RTE but I couldn't remember what it stood for.

There is a solid state regulator available today that is a direct replacement for your mechanical regulator.

The modern one even looks identical.

Echlin VR-1001, or Standard (Blue Streak) VR-128

For your instrument cluster regulator.

I’ve built a few from the Rich Ehrenberg article online. Only cost a few bucks, used old limiters so they just plug in. A quick and easy DIY project.

I got the new one from Real Time Engineering today. Hardest part about it was trying to squeeze my hand in between the metal bracket and the wire harness and then get all three prongs into the back of the circuit board with not really being able to see at the same time. lol.

Using the RTE limiter, do you still use the original condenser that plugs into it?
