This reminds me of 2 cars I can recall years ago while working at the local track. One was an MG, either a B or a Midget, with a small block Chevy I think, the other an Anglia or a Thames wagon of some sort, that had been converted to center steer, and with some kind of Chevy engine I suppose. Both used the original front suspension I believe.
I have to assume the front end geometry was not addressed on either car as I saw both of them totaled on their initial runs. No shakedown, no sneaking up on it, just a flat out blast down the quarter mile. Right in the traps, they went into a death wobble that ended up in both cars disintegrating in a series of rolls and endos off the side of the track that from the starting line looked like a cloud of dust with parts and pieces flying out of it. Neither driver was badly hurt, but I never saw either one at the track again. The owner of the track was hitting pieces of those cars with his mower for quite awhile afterwards.
I hope this fellow has a better outcome.
