Dads426 pro stock D Joined: May 2007 Posts: 1,443 Maryland	Back in the 70's we would camp out for 3-4 days at Englishtown (Summernationals) and for all but the pro classes we could go up to the starting line and watch the modified cars. That was a treat. I'd check out the tell-tale on the C/SM cars and they were at 11,000 rpm. I REALLY miss that sound! G/MP was a great class too. 3700 lb Camaros with 280ish cu-in engines and 7.17 gears. These guys had to have a degree in metallurgy to keep the drivelines together. My dual-purpose car in the early '70s was a 292" 4-speed '57 Chevy with 4.88s, and I never wanted for a radio! I'm with a lot of you guys: nowadays if I spectate, the throttle-stop cars allow me to hit the concession stands and wander the pits. I come a-runnin' back though for Stock & SS, and beat the PS & Fuel fans to the good seats. I want to see guys race the WHOLE distance.
