How in the hell to do you remove and install the torque shaft bushing in the transmission bracket? The bushing supports the transfer case shifter linkage or torque shaft as its referred to in the tech manual. I have a rattle in the linkage that has been driving me crazy for quite a while and decided to have a go at it today and after much frustration the job is only partially done.

Here is the tsb<-click
I did it once on a 97 wrangler and wonder what issue you're running into.
If it's a clearance issue, how are the motor and trans mounts? iirc the body end bracket needs to be moved by loosening 3 or four bolts under carpet.

After some research I ordered an aftermarket part that eliminates that entire ridiculous torque shaft system.
