Is there a fender tag? Broadcast Sheet?

The problem is these cars are soft. Specially with the wrong motor. It looks like it was a bench seat car.

So spending money on a restoration would be a waste of money. This could be a great driver. I'd say it's in the $12-18K range and I am probably on the high side.

How many hands have been on this car? I looked pretty close at the interior shot also, did 4 speed bees come with a tac and a reverse indicator?

Tach would be an option

Is it a WM23 car?

Alot off as mentioned, as well as tail lights, front looks almost like 72 hideaway units.

Post the tag if its there if you would.

Those wheels ruin that car the most....not only black but ultra cheap looking. Needs chrome bumpers to break up that loud yellow, and people, white letters out........

Well that tells you it started life as a Superbee - or that the dash assembly did

What this car needs more than anything (besides the aformentioned wheels) is wheel opening moldings (all 71 Chargers came with them) Rather than spending money on rechromed bumpers, I can see continuing the monochromatic look with a set of 15" steel wheels painted to match the car in what ever color that is (It is not GY3, looks more like Corvette yellow) That way the R/T tail lights would be correct (only way you would get them is with rubber bumpers on a 71 Bee) I would sell the 72 hideaway set up & go back the standard grill. (oh wait, I just recreated the car in my Avatar in a different color LOL)

So you know, here are a few things I see from a quick review of the pics

Wrong shifter boot. That is a console position boot, but handle & location are for bench seat. This indicates it is more than likely a bench seat car with a bucket seat upgrade (Safe assumption)

Incorrect air cleaner

missing fan shroud

Brake booster should be cad

Overall, I say this is a cool desirable car! (I might be biased LOL Being a lover of 71 B Bodies)

Assuming its a real 4 speed car (fender tag info would be great) and the paint could be touched up, I would set the value @ $18,000 ($16,000-$20,000)

I see it went to 24k... Id of sold it.

Not going to run it in the ground, but it looks like very much like a driver needing a bit to get it to be a nice driver.

This area is ugly on the rear and the grill could use some cleanup.

What other “punch list” items should I consider? Plan is to shake out any cobwebs, put correct items on it, and spend some $$ in the right places.

The other tag just had two letters on it IIRC...can’t remember what they were

The wheels are awful. I hope 15inch Rallyes will clear the Baer brakes. According to the site they should. Hope a 275 can fit the rears.

The missing lugnut is a locking lug that had to be cut because there was no key.

So you bought it?

After looking at that fender tag pic, I would say repainting the whole engine compartment is in order.

Paint the intake manifold

Tail light bezels should be argent (contact Jimmy Boros for proper three color restoration, he does great work, he can also sell you a set of nice restored grilles if you chose to go back to stock, correct for 71, he may even buy the hideaway set up from you)

both bumpers are 72's (slotted for jack hook) Again Jimmy can get you correct rechromed 71 bumpers, or if your sticking with painted, fill the slots before repainting as the front has a big chip anyway.

I would add the super cool bazooka exhaust tips which means changing the rear valance

Go to Summit Racing for

(2) Wheel Vintiques 15x7 rally wheels
(2) 255/60/15 BF Goodrich radial T/A
(2) Wheel Vintiques 15x8 rally wheels
(2) 275/60/15 BF Goodrich radial T/A (yes they will fit)

Carsten

If the car is local to him, San Diego, you can have all kinds of rust issues or no rust issues. If the car is left outside the nice breeze off the ocean brings some salt with it.
