Looking for the metal u shaped piece that wraps around the bottom of the leaf spring ona stock 78 Dodge Aspen. This is for the drivers side if that matters. Looking for a nice used one. Not sure where to post this. Thanks.

There are two different sizes. One size for 5 leaf springs and a shorter one for 4 leaf springs. I don`t think Jim has the 5 leaf one.

I'm not sure the brackets are different, I wonder if the rubber bushing that surrounds the leafs are different between the 4 leaf and the 5 leaf.

Or, now that I think about it, I'm not sure the 4 leaf didn't have a short spring or spacer about the same length as the bracket, so Mopar only needed one set of brackets and rubber bushings. Chrysler was going broke at the time, a short piece of 1/4" thick 2" x 6" steel with a hole punched in it would have been pretty cheap. Gene

No two different sizes for sure. The five leaf ones are hard to come by. They were on wagons and HD suspension. I had seen people use the shorter ones with homemade spacers.

Correct, these where made by Jim because nobody has new or serviceable brackets for 5-leaf suspension setups:

5 leaf 8.25 used a specific deeper U channel. I do not have any of those in stock.
I do have the plate portion the shock attaches to which is also specific to the 8.25 rear.
you can use 3" axle tube leaf spring/shock brackets and U bolts to replace the isolators.
