Helping a friend with wiring up a battery relocation into his trunk area. 69 B-body btw has 2/0 running from solenoid directly to starter with jumper, no cutoff switch won't be raced. Question is can we run the alternator charge wire right to the large stud on the starter relay then have one wire from there to the hot side of the solenoid with an inline fuse? or does that wire need to go directly to the battery then another to the relay from the battery. This will be the power take off point for the front of the car. First time running something like this just want as few wires as possible. Thanks

Yes, you can run the charge wire to the stud on the relay and then to the starter solenoid BAT terminal; just be sure the charge wire size matches the alternator output.

That's what I was hoping. Next question was looking at wire size calculator for his combo. 150 amp alt (5.7 Hemi) where this will be two separate wires does that affect the size? about 5 feet from alt. to relay and about 12 feet to solenoid. Is 4 gauge to small?

4 ga from alt to starter relay and 2/0 from starter relay back to solenoid/battery in the trunk?.

You mention a solenoid... where is that and is the 2/0 cable hot all the time?
