Don't be silly. As most lifters come from only a few manufacturers, chances are the main body of Lifter X has the same body as Lifter Y and Lifter Z. Now the internal tolerances may be different, but what meets the camshaft is pretty much uniform from lifter to lifter. Anyhow it's been done literally a hundred million times or more.

Also, most cam cores come from one of two or so manufacturers.

Also, most cam cores come from one of two or so manufacturers. Most are just repackaged by whatever cam company you use.

You can use different brands lifters/cam. Anyone remember Rhodes lifters? They were supposed to "bleed down" at low rpm to mellow out a larger hydraulic cam. I used them on a 292/509 purple shaft cam with not issue at all.
