To be fair, I love the strip. But I've been to Vegas enough times that a couple days of that after 3 days in the convention center looking at show lighting is enough for me. So I start looking for new things for the wifey and me to do.

I considered count's customs, but it lost out to the atomic testing museum this last time out. I think we made the better choice.

No riff-raff on the bus tour we took. Just old people...probably due to the 6 AM lobby call for the bus. biggrin

We fly down for the trade show & hang out for a few extra days. Letting a bus driver deal with the roads was an unexpected but welcome relaxation by that point of our trip. Plenty of energy left for a nice supper and......... other things........ once we got back to the hotel.

In N’ Out factory store for discounted t shirts & merchandise.

Can change daily - I have bought shirts for $1 - they make great gifts.

I like Pawn Stars - that show revitalized Old Vegas & brought
Tourism $$$ back to the area.

Grand Canyon is a whole nuther experience - take the train from Williams
and spend the night at the rim - visit the photography studio perched
on the edge of the Canyon.

The Shelby facility is nowhere near the speedway. It's across the street from McCarran airport, 2 minutes from the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign.

Been next to the Speedway forever, I am talking the factory not the museum that is next to the airport.

Ah, gotcha. I thought you meant the other location. What do they do at the facility by the speedway? I know that at the location by the airport, they build a lot of the Mustangs and Raptors, and they have the museum collection there, including Cobra #1.

Hanging out on Fremont Street is always a good time - live bands on multiple stages, live street performers, light show that covers the entire strip, zip lines, and interesting people watching.
If you like roller coasters, ride the coaster on the roof of New York New York. Especially at night.
Checking out the view from the top of the Stratosphere is cool if you're into views from above.
Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum
Cirque du Soleil show (personally Beatles Love is my favorite)
Maggiano's Little Italy is great Italian food served family style

I rented a Harley-Davidson Road King at a place off the strip and my wife & I spent the day touring Red Rock Canyon, Mt. St. Charleston, etc. Once out of town the traffic disappears and you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
It was a great way to spend the day.

I've eaten at the local Maggiano's twice, and agree that the food was good. My $.02, there are too many great independent restaurants in Vegas to spend time/money eating at a chain restaurant. We've eaten at the Italian restaurant in New York New York, and it was outstanding.

Should spend an evening on Fremont St as well, plenty of free outdoor stages, shopping and other things to do if you are not a gambler. While there eat at the Downtown "Nacho Daddy" just off Fremont:

Good food, best margaritas in town, and the "scorpion" tequila shot.

Hay thanks for the tip. Arrive Vegas two days ago, ate at Nochodaddys this afternoon. Dang best nochos I have ever had. The IPA was good to. Been visiting Vegas for years andp never visited Nachodaddys place. Don’t know how I missed it. Must have spent to much time in Binions and Four Queens. Fremont Street is my favorite place to go in Vegas.
