I am looking to change the steering wheel on my 70 Road Runner and always liked the attached style. I'm searching ebay and whatnot for one...but I'm not sure what this steering wheel is called. (ie woodgrain wheel, tuff steering wheel, rim blow wheel, etc...) Is there a specific name for this style wheel? Thanks!

The wheel your looking for is the (1970 only) pebble grain A/B body deluxe wheel, chances of finding one used, not cracked are slim, your best off buying the wheel from Classic Industries/PG Classics/etc/etc, and picking up a used horn ring/pad off Ebay, the road runner center emblem is available repro as well

The wheel retails for about $200 in black, colors are available as well

Not to steel the thread here, but I have a question.
To remove the pad and horn ring assembly from the wheel you need to remove the "coin emblem" to get to the attaching bolt that is underneath.
Is that a correct?
I need to remove my steering wheel in my 69 GTS and I not sure how to remove the pad from the wheel.

Pretty sure it is a quarter turn of the pad itself - as it rests on the horn contact that is screwed to the actual steering wheel . . . always best to check Factory Service Manual

If you have the three spoke center bad like Dayclona shows, then yes. You opo out the center coin and there is a nut (IIRC, been a while). That removes the pad and exposes the switch. Re then unhook the horn wire from the switch and remove switch. Then you can get to the nut that holds the wheel onto the shaft.
If you have a wood grain or taxi cab wheel that has a round center pad, then it is a twist off.

Thanks, RR
I'm going to wait until warmer weather before I try to remove the "coin".
The pad is pretty stiff with the cold temperatures right now.

You are correct in the removal of the horn pad, getting the medallion "coin" out is tricky without breaking it, or splitting the vinyl on the pad, a little soapy water solution aids in removal and install, best to probe around the medallion to find the tangs that holds it in, to see where you need to spread the vinyl to extract it, a dental pick with a 90 degree angle works best for finding the tangs and manipulating them from their slots

As Mike mentioned, 1970 wheel will be needed for a 1970 column (due to the in-column key for 1970). 1969 wheels are very similar, but not the same. The picture you posted looks like it may be a '69 wheel as the '69 wheel has a slightly flatter center pad; the '70 center looks 'puffed up' a bit more.

These wheels show up on eBay and on here regularly, but many sellers call them 1969 and 1970, not knowing there is a difference. Just know what you're bidding on/buying.

I have been trying to study the 68-70 wood grain wheels for the last few months as I have been in the market for a decent unrestored one.
As for the wheel itself. The only change that I see was the addition of the 3 holes found on the 1970 wheel to accommodate the plastic transition ring that was attached to the back side of the wheel to fill the gap between the larger diameter column and the pad mounting adaptor bracket.
The horn pad adaptor ring was different in 1970 due to the increase in the column diameter.

All of the above, plus the 70 woodgrain wheel is often "brown" in color, were as the 69 down wheel is "reddish", in most applications

I will throw one other thing out there that I noticed between the 68-69 and the 70 wheel. The 70 wheel has only 3 injection mold ports on the back side while the 68-69 wheels have 6 injection ports.
These "ports" are a weak point and usually where the wheel first likes to start cracking.
