I was driving in to work a couple of days ago when I came across The Sports Junkies (WJFK) doing a phone interview w/ ol' JJ. It was REALLY obvious the Junks had no freakin' clue about most of what he was talking about, but they thought he came across as a nice guy. I was almost tempted to call 'em and give them a quick history lesson on what (little) I know about the history of the local (DC/MD/VA) street racing going back 40 years, but decided to pass and laugh at the moment for what it was.

Also, interesting that the Moparts SO thread has over 500+ replies now. We stopped our FIOS last year as a cost-cutting move (not the only thing we stopped, either), so I haven't seen an episode since... well, I guess it's going on 2 SO OK 'seasons' since we had it. Eh, it is what it is.

Regardless, I figured people here might be amused by the radio interview.

I've heard that JJ is a pretty personable guy. There was a guy from work that went to the race at Bristol in November(?) and he said most of them, except for Krye Kelly, were cool to talk to and would make time for you if they could.

He does a great Jerry Reed imitation... if that's what you want.

Tried watching the show. My head was about ready to explode after listening to this guy for 5 minutes. Muted the volume made it another 5 minutes and turned it off.

Ok

I had no idea there was ANY sports talk radio in DC.

Because you hadn't looked, or because (like me) you really don't give a rat's a$$ about mainstream ball & stick sports?

I have tried and found nothing interesting, maybe its the times I travel around here. So I generally rely on Satellite radio when commuting and traveling.
