Why can't they have a model with small V-8 auto, just heat, basic radio? No rear bumper. A real stripper. With an option to add a/c no frills
Buy the Name Econoline

That's a cheap and easy feature to add to the current Ram.

Thats exactly what I added to my 2013 !!! . . . hope they have made the headlights better than the 2013 and up . . . terrible headlights. Always seems like Ford had best headlights when you are behind the wheel, and using them to see !!

I’m not to keen on the looks either but it will grow on us. A company has to be progressive to stay on top. Here’s a intro video of the 1500 my brother just sent me.

My friend owns a 2012 2500, horrible light pattern! My 1998 Ram has far superior headlamps. He ended up installing a LED lightbar in the center since the low beams are so bad.

As too the new trucks... I really like the idea of a Pentastar V6 with the torque assist in a shortbed 2WD regular cab, for the small amount of towing I do it would be ideal.

However, I'm not thrilled with the quality of FCA's offerings at the moment. My 2012 Challenger has gobbled 2 ABS sensors, a radio and there is still an outstanding "alternator my catch fire" recall which was suppose to be addressed.. this month.. January..

Now the right side cluster gauge backlighting is starting to fail.

Fool me once..All these issues in less than 10,000 miles.

Edit: And the battery goes dead now in three days if the fob is used to lock the car (arming the alarm) but doesn't if I manually lock the car.

Every maker has lemons, you might just be the lucky one! My factory lights on my 2500 4x4 lights are so bright the moon tucked behind the earth today to get away from the glare... penguin

Well, seeing as you asked:

First: I'm the guy who has to live with the impracticality of modern truck design. The high bed height and box sides are not only impractical and hard on my olde body, but climbing 3 feet in and out the back of a truck with a load of tools and supplies takes longer and reduces productivity on the jobsite.

Second: We are a small business with only a couple vehicles that operates on tight margins. So when we make an investment in a shop vehicle, we must get many years of trouble free service from it - we can't afford to be replacing it as soon as the warranty period runs out, or experience excessive downtime due to repairs. Flimsy plastic interiors and superfluous electronics run contrary to that. Our Jeep Patriot sat in the shop for three days waiting for a new u-connect/infotainment/gps (under warranty) during which time it wasn't out on the road doing sales calls making us money.

Third: I along with a partner own the company.... So I'm the guy signing the cheque for whatever we end up buying.

My Ram has the Chrysler lifetime extended warranty...everything covered for only a $100 deductible. I don't know of any other manufacturer that offers such a warranty. I have this on my Ram, Challenger and Jeep Cherokee (as I tend to keep vehicles for a very long time). For a business/service vehicle, Ram has a wide variety of vehicles that are very hard (if not impossible) to beat for warranty and dependability.

1) Recall for the alternator affects a large number of V6 and Hemi vehicles, I'm starting to wonder if cars are going to start burning before FCA gets off their asses.

2) ABS sensors are common, dealer parts manager (who I have known for 30 years) told me they can't keep them in stock.

3) Battery going dead is caused by multiple issues ranging from fob being to close to car keeping network active, door windows constantly cycling till battery is dead to alarm system not allowing network to power down correctly. I figured this one out by researching on Challenger forums and process of elimination.

I have not even bothered looking up the cluster issue yet, oh wait..

Changing the fancy radio out on current FCA vehicles for a host of reasons iscalso very common. I know of two others locally besides ourselves who have had this done under warranty. A very short, quick internet search will lead you to hundreds (thousands?) more.

I’m told it’s a $4k fix outside of warranty.

Guess I am the lucky one them, both my Ram and my wife's 2015 200 have been pretty much flawless. She did to have her battery replaced, but it was an Enterprise rental car originally (6 months) and the battery had been replaced before the dealer got it, so the reason is unknown. The replacement battery has been fine, I did it myself. I have 103K on my Ram and she has 69K on her 200.

I really like it a lot, especially the Rebel with the black out grille. It's funny how so many express their opinion as fact.

I believe the only style opinions that can be stated as fact are ones on the Pontiac Aztec, AMC Matador, and Chevy Avalanche, haha.

Well, it’s a fact that I dislike the appearance of this truck, particularly when compared to the current styling.

No debating that fact at all.

I'm sure there is someone out there who likes the styling of each of those vehicles you mentioned.
