99 Caravan, the dash gauges(water temp.,tach.,speedo,gas,odemeter, & gear display) go out intermittently, and ABS light comes on. so far they come back in 5 to 20 minutes, or when you shut van off & restart.

Any ideas on the cause of this?????

Thanks

As "caveman-ish" as it sounds, our 98 did that for a bit. I would whack the top of the cluster, did this several times, now it's fine !!

My '98 Caravan would lose all the guages and set the check engine light. Apparantely, the solder breaks on the pins on the cluster causing this. Went to the local pick a part for a cluster and no problem since.

Pull the IC and you can look at the back of the plug on the IC, if you are handy with a soldering gun its easy to fix.

And..... if your's doesn't have the tach, get one that does. Plug and play. No changes.
