I have a couple of 73-74 B-Body120mph speedometers that are all MPH. One of them has red numbers with white background in the 1/10ths segment of the odometer, the others are all black on white background. What does the red signify?

Replacement speedometer so any future owner would know that the total mileage was not original.

If replaced at a dealership, they came with a sticker so the original mileage was recorded at the time of the swap & it could be added to the 'new' mileage for the real total.

My 1970 Sport Satellite has one & the sticker is inside the glove box.

I have seen stickers on the drivers door jam also but that may have been on later year vehicles.
