I’m needing some help on my restoration project. I’m looking for information and pictures for proper coil power for battery and ignition power. I’ve been working on this car for several years and am so close.... But I’m lacking a few important details on the coil and distributor wiring. The new harness I have doesn’t have them included and I can’t find pictures or info anywhere...

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry... I did forget to add a few crucial items.
It is a 1967 GTX with the 440-auto and power steering and no A/C. The old engine wiring harness didn't have the coil/ignition provision when I removed it, so I don't have a reference point to go by.

The car was purchased with engine/trans and body work complete, so my son and I are having the pleasure of putting everything back together that we didn't take apart...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Russ

Do you still have the old harness? Was the coil power totally removed?

I do have the old harness, and there isn't anything there for coil or distributor. oddly enough, the harness was still installed as well... It
sure had my thinker going. I have all the manuals, and the wiring diagrams as well. However... the wiring diagram's I have show the coil power wire to be a grey wire coming off of the harness... Neither harness I have, have the grey wire for power. The only extra wire is the blue wire for the A/C compressor lockup control...

Having a factory service manual will save you a ton of headaches.
If I understand your question, and if I remember correctly, my '67 GTX was the same as my '68-'70 Bs in this regard: coil wire runs along the inner side of the pass (right) valve cover, where those tabs are; #8 plug wire also runs along there.
Photos of installed engines & engine compartments can be found on Google: search "67 GTX engine compartment images".

Thank you! I'll look and see what I can find. I do have all the manuals for the car, but the only item section that does not have an exploded view is the engine compartment... Go figure...
Thanks again!!

The coil wire comes out of the harness near the center of the valve cover. It is then routed forward for big block and rearward for small block. It is blue in color, not light or dark.

It could be they cut it off. Might have to open the wrap to find it.

...and if I remember correctly, grey wire is for oil pressure sender @ rear of engine, left of center.
Sub-harness for horns, washer pump & alternator runs along the depression in rt apron, retained by plastic push-in straps.
Battery + & ft lamp harness run along similar contour on lt apron, same retainers. Brake pressure wire drops down from there near firewall.

Incorrect above.

The horn, washer pump, and alt wires are all in the engine harness. It runs along the valve cover, behind/under alt and to the horns and relay.

There are no wires that run along the right fender apron on any V8 non AC 1967 Plymouth/Dodge B-body. I don't know about /6 or AC cars.

Oops, sorry for the mis-info, then. I'll bow out.
