The cuda looks like it was maybe a Barracuda that someone bolted the parts on. No door top molding, wheel lip molding, GC tail trim, no by Plymouth emblem on the tail panel and other things wrong for a cuda.

Pretty sure the Daytona's have been restored. If I'm not mistaken, hot rod just released an article about them.

No doubt, and people say todays cars are disposable. Were those even 5-6 years old when that pic was taken?

SP392, I think the shot of the red and blue Daytonas was from here in KC at Avenue Auto Parts and Truman road and I-435. It is now called Pick and Pull or something similar.

Right behind the Daytonas was a Charger 500, brown/copper and that is what I think I see in the photos. But then again, Charger 500s had no vinyl tops did they?

We used to walk that yard and bought lots of stuff from Avenue. The front section of it had the exotic cars in it and I see some of the others I think I remember.

Shelton was the guy running it and he used to call us at home and let us know he had 69 barracuda parts to sell.

If I am wrong about the yard those are in, sorry but it sure looks familiar.

That's the yard , all covered in the article that is linked in the other post . The 500 was a Hemi . The R4 and B5 Daytona's were L codes .
Mike Mancini restored the R4 Daytona .

That could be the 71 hemi cuda from around Stockton CA that was a present to the son graduating fro HS 4 speed car. He has pictures of it. I am not sure where he lives now, but have seen the scrap book it was in. Turned left "at speed" and hit the curb, than it rolled. It was only a year or two old at the time.

I remember seeing pictures of the Charger 500 that was in that junkyard with the Daytona's and it didn't have a vynal top. It was the same color as that Charger with the white top though. It had Hemi stenciled on the rear quarter. I believe that the 500 was saved and restored, but burnt in a garage fire. If you look at the Charger with the white vynal top you can see the outline of the sunroof. That yard had four of the rarest 69 Chargers built!

Local yard here I went into one day and had a perfect 65 Satellite. The idiots put at least 3 cars on top of it and crushed it down.Worst part is they would sell whole cars cheap.Almost cried.Another yard had a old bus filled with erly hemis.I think it all went for scrap iron.Rocky

Charger, you are right! I remember both Chargers now and the 500 was a lot rougher. There were also Studebakers or some other older exotic stuff and Shelton had them all right up front where you could walk by them each and every time. It was amazing to see those but at the time, we did not think to much about it. Kyle tried to get them and I do recall that now that I read the story about them.
they also had a 68-69 Judge we got parts form and all sorts of everyday MOPAR stuff and he was very fair and he was always inexpensively pricing stuff for us.
