Is there a o-ring under thats under the adjuster screw nut? Cleaned up/power washed an old 727 with 60k mile on it & going to stick it in a SWB D100. It's just been sitting in the shop since I washed it & it's leaking from that adjuster screw. Any ideas?

No O ring.

I just use pipe thread sealant. The one in the tube. not the tape.

Aka - white thread lock

I use Teflon liquid as well. You can still get it loose to adjust.

I always back the adjuster out a bit, hit it with brake clean/compressed air and put a dab of gray RTV on the threads and adjust her up. Even the pickups up to 07 still do this.

I used a part very similar to what John posted under mine and it worked great. I got mine at a local Chevrolet dealership, but cant remember the exact part usage.

I've never had a problem with them leaking. It's only going to leak when it's shut off and the converter leaks down.

I've never figured out why some leak and most don't...even with the elevated fluid level caused by converter drain back. No choice but to treat the symptom.

Some don't leak, some do leak, and it's When driving not just sitting.
