I need to run 1/2 fuel line on 70 ebody. I know how to make the fuel line all the back except where it goes around passenger side leaf spring hanger. There are many 90 degrees bends right there. I want to match factory as much as I can. Has anyone did this process where it looks professional. Any help or ideas. Money is not the object but how to get it look nice and function. Maybe someone has done this in a different way that I'm not aware of. Want to avoid being close to exhaust system.

Thanks Ken

I'm guessing you want to keep it somewhat stock looking, but I run mine with braided steel and AN fittings. MUCH easier to deal with.

Yes sounds good keep the ideas and pictures coming. I plan to use those special AN fittings. How far away do the fuel lines need to be away from the exhaust? Mine does not have to look stock but I want it to look like it was made that way.

Finelines bent me up a 1/2" line to fit in the stock location on my '73 A-body. Not the greatest thing to install but it looks and fits like original. I would imagine that they could do you one???

I installed 1/2” hardline on my car last year. I just kept it inside the frame rail and subframe connector all the way forward, pretty much a straight shot. Originally I wanted to follow the stock line location, but it just made more sense to me to go in a straight line.

Did you have any issues with exhaust temps heating the fuel? Any pics would be great.

Thanks Ken

Just my 2¢?
Braid + AN are overkill w/r/t pressure - there isn't any to speak of (compared to brake lines, oil filter/cooler, power steering, even ATF cooler).
Difficult to assemble on a bench (keep Band-Aids and peroxide handy), impossible to repair under the car.
$$$$$.
Steel lines will last 30 years if you keep them dry.

How far away do the fuel lines need to be away from the exhaust?
Never above, several inches lateral or you'll vapor lock.

I've run 1/2" aluminum hard line on several Mopars in the last 30 years; generally following the OEM routing except for frame-connector cars, which get a straighter shot. Key is adequate clamps & using hoses at each end (tank & pump or pumps). I use fire-sleeve anywhere near a heat source. For street use I prefer to run the fire-sleeve the full length of the line so it's really protected & insulated.

I figure anything with 1/2" line is no longer strictly restored, and at that point function is more important than exact originality.

I ran -8 feed and return in the cloth braided hoses when I changed to EFI. That stuff is so much easier to work with than the steel braided it is ridiculous.

Thanks for info guys. Yes fuel line does not have to look original and has to function. I was looking for anyone who did this so it looks like it was made to be there "like a new car" I got some nice pictures from one person but always looking for more ideas. I have customer that wants me to make look super clean and nice. Money is no object.

Thanks Ken 715-432-5080

That's what I used, black -8an braided, extremely easy to work with.

I have not had any issues with fuel temps that I’m aware of. It is on the inside of the frame rail as it enters the engine bay towards the mechanical pump. That’s where it’s closest to the headers, I can’t really tell you right now how close it is because my engine is currently torn apart and the headers are out. I don’t remember being concerned about it when I routed it though. shruggy
At the rear, my picture would look nearly identical to whitedarts above.

What are the two other lines for? Is there a cooler setup in the rear.
