No doubt there are people with way fast reaction times... .250 was the average number I found when I looked it up.

As far as the birdman discussion goes. I believe I heard the # 4000hp mentioned is what the hemi makes.

Ryan is close to 4500hp. Birdman is past that and has a lighter car.

Not as shocked as shane lester was when he broke a blower belt at the line.
That guy should just give up. That was at least the 4th high dollar car he has raced on the show and still cant make one good pass.
Maybe the flames on his firesuit torched the belt. panic

I thought one of the rules was steel roof and quarters. I know firebirds from 93-02 have fiberglass roofs. Anyone know if birdmans roof is steel or what is done to the car? The top of quarters and roof area is definitely not factory. His car is is about as far from factory looking as any of the cars that compete. Prostock Firebirds in the 90s looked far more factory than his car.

For next year they are trying to mandate all steel body including rockers and door posts lock and hinges. They want to eliminate cars like the gas monkey Challenger where they riveted the skin to the roll cage and cars that glue fiberglass panels over shaved steel skins. Typical motor sport mentality, think out of the box and make it lighter, faster, slicker. We should invite those racer to our..."weight loss" post.

Makes sense because cars like birdmans are on a whole different level than most of the others. There really isn't much firebird to that car other than some of the shape. Considering Chucks running it, I imagine those rules will happen if that's what he wants.

Sort of like the whole pro mod think they decided were no longer allowed.

Pretty sure it’s not chuck that is running the show. The Discovery Channel pays the bills

The no more pro mods thing came from cash days...
The whole reason for " the list" in the first place, was so they could take their fastest( or at least best fast on the street) cars to cash days.
Once Limpy decided no more pro mods in cash days, they had to make the change to the list cars.

Birdman's car definitely has steel quarters. Their enclosed trailer flipped at one point last year and there are pics of the car with the quarters damaged when it was rattling around inside the trailer.

I can see the roof is also steel... which I figured. That car further from factory than any other car on the show by a large margin. I'm not complaining about it, just stating the obvious.

I remember the rules being steel roof and quarters and factory wheelbase. But there would be no factory vin attached that car, no idea if that was a rule for the no prep series.

Edit: Looks like it has factory tail lights or the covers, otherwise I see nothing oem firebird.

It could be for a fire restraint system.

Anybody that thinks that any of the quickest cars in this series are not just sheets hung over a well thought out tube chassis is living in a fantasy world. No steel rockers, so what. If there was a reasonable min weight rule and a stock wheel base rule, that would clean it up. No need to rule out various body panel materials if they have to be heavier.

I know the winner of the Wednesday night series gets 40,000.00 but does anyone know for sure if they pay anything to the guys that win the early rounds and go out. I can’t image what it would cost to run this series with the travel and maintenance costs. Heck how many cars have hit the wall
