I am currently using a 1969 Hurst factory console shifter on my 68 Charger, like the one that would have come on a 69 Charger for example.
Years ago I picked up a 70 console pistol grip handle that I now want to install but I know there are differences in the actual mechanism itself, or actually the lever part so one doesn't smash the dashboard on the 2/3 shift.
I found the correct mechanism but not too excited about dropping 250 on another one, does anyone know if the 69 one can just be modified with a longer lever?

I was going to say factory didnt use Comp Plus after 65.My 65 came withj one. They went from Inland in 66 to just Comp boxes.I have a 71 pistol grip top for my 65 box I change when I pull the OE one.I had to drill it as it was the slip fit type.Supposedly you can drill the Comp box for the stop bolts like the Plus has.Sold the 71 box after I pulled the pistol handle.Rocky

A side-by-side comparison, '68-'69 on left, '70 on the right. The shifter on the left in your photo has the two stop bolts. Factory Hurst shifters used in 1968 and later did not have them, but they could have been added...
