I mangled one taking the ball joints off, moog ball joints.

I've been looking at http://www.suspension.com/universal-dust-boots.asp, and I can't find anything that matches.

Does anyone know where to get these boots? I really don't want to buy a whole new ball joint just for a dust boot.

Some act as merely umbrellas and do not retain the grease like the OEM boots that snap into a machined recess in the ball joint.
Make sure you are buying what you want.

unfortunately, they are back ordered and don't know when they will be in. Mancini apparently has a kit, $99. Still looking...

Have you checked the Dorman help section of the local parts store. They do have a selection of replacement boots and you might find what you need.

Wow, this is getting to be a bummer, and taking a lot of time.

A well stocked local store had nothing. I tried looking up Moog itself, hoping to talk with someone and see if I can get a boot, but I can't even find them on the web, only independent dealers selling moog.

I'm getting close to saying f*ck it, and just buying another.

Well, I did get hold of someone at moog. He is sending me a dust boot, but it isn't the exact one that the ball joint comes with, so it's a shot in the dark. If it works, I'm done, but otherwise it's a new ball joint!

Would an original fit? Frank Baldason has some of those.

Something I've experienced with Moog dust boots the last few years is they don't last anymore. Within a year they are cracking and falling apart. And this is on cars that get 2,000 miles a year at most. Might want to consider urethane if you can find.

Facts are stubborn things.

Yes, I just found them. Like Mancini, $100 for the kit. Probably wouldn't be bad to have spares around. Going to be $50 for a new ball joint, maybe I'll do this.

Mickm,

I was rummaging through a cabinet in my garage today and came across a bag of dust boots. From what I can remember I think I pulled these off Moog parts and used the poly ones I bought as a kit. I have 4 ea of three different sizes. The small ones I'm pretty sure are tie rod ends. The middle size has "Mount Inboard" with an arrow and #7177 (openings 1.5" x 3/4" - just like the two top ones in the Roseville picture). The larger ones just have #7031 and have a small squared notch on the small opening (openings 1.75" x 3/4"). If you think one of these will work for you then I can drop them in the mail.

Good luck! Often a replacement ball joint will have the generic umbrella type also. I use that, or a generic umbrella cover from the help section or a poly boot and grease each oil change.

If you find something better please post it.
