I am restoring both the grill and trunk finish panel on my 69 Dart GT. I am in the process of repainting the black areas on both pieces. I am using satin black paint. My question is, do you think it would be advisable to spray a coat of satin clear over the black? I was originally thinking maybe I should but then thought maybe the clear might discolor and not look right.

I'm also interested in finding the correct paint for the the same parts on my GTS.
I just checked SEM web site and I see they have more than one paint listed as "Trim Paint"
Which one did you use to get the correct finish? Thanks...

Here is the paint you need: SEM 15013 Landau Black. Comes in spray cans. Get it on E-bay, $17.73 ea. This is as close to factory as you'll maybe ever get.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on my original question about applying a coat of clear?

I personally would not apply a clear coat to the grille or trunk panel. I'm thinking that doing so would give it a custom look instead of a factory look.
