The Dorman's I just received (made in China) are obviously now chamferred so they seem loose and go in half-way by hand. It seems to be a manufacturing modification to help us get them started in the hole easier. I don't believe they are defective or too large.

Interesting, I replaced the freeze plugs in a '77 318 and a '68 383 last summer and simply asked for the kit for those motors at Orielys and thought nothing of it. They fit perfect. Still no idea what brand they are. I really should start taking notes. I've never needed sealant with freeze plugs.
I have mechanical Aptitude. I can screw up anything.
